Sydney and Rob celebrated one of the best days of their lives this past July in downtown Raleigh! From the first time we met with Sydney and her mom Kim, we knew that although some might think it’s crazy to get married in the dead of summer in North Carolina, this family could handle it! Love and compassion surrounded them and their friends and family the entire weekend. It was a breath of much-needed fresh air knowing that no matter what the day might bring (such as our beautiful slight mist of rain – haha), Sydney and Rob were going to be married at the end of it!
Christ Church and
The Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh made perfect backdrops for both the ceremony and reception. Sydney and Rob chose to keep it traditional and not see each other prior to Sydney’s walk down the aisle. They did however, choose to read letters they wrote for one another while at the church. This was such a sweet moment to have and heightened that anticipated moment of seeing each other all dressed up for the first time on their wedding day!
As guests left the ceremony, they headed over to the Merrimon-Wynne House where they were greeted with delicious hors d’oeuvres from
Rocky Top and refreshing drinks from the Merrimon-Wynne’s team. Sydney and Rob wanted their guests to enjoy the celebratory atmosphere, so they hosted a station-style, mix-and-mingle reception! We put a tent out on the lawn, and set up some yard games and market lights to make it a cozy place for guests to hang out. Inside the Carriage House,
Liquid Pleasure was rocking the stage and had the dance floor packed!
There’s nothing like some extra sweet treats after an evening full of good food and drinks, so Sydney and Rob’s guests were treated to
Duck Donuts and
SweetWater Italian Ice. All in all it was a wonderful day and we are so thankful to have been part of it!

Father-Daughter first looks always leave us misty eyed!

Watered Garden did an amazing job on these bouquets!

Dan Nelson did an amazing job capturing a scenic image of Sydney and Rob standing on the porch of MW with their friends and family enjoying the evening!
