Let’s face it, music can make or break your reception and choosing the right option can be a daunting task. There seems to be endless options… you watch highlight reels, look at the difference in pricing and wonder which is right for your special night. To make it easier on you we’ve created a list of things to consider to help you make one of the first decisions in choosing the music that will be the right fit for you!
- Cost – The cost difference between the two is significant. A great DJ will usually run between $1000-$1900 whereas a great band will price between $3500-$20,000+.
- Repertoire – Do you favor a certain genre or do you prefer to have all of your favorite songs played? Each band has a certain style or repertoire they stick to whereas a DJ offers endless options.
- Space – Another important factor to take into consideration is your venue. How much space are you able to use for your entertainment? But do not worry! If you’re limited and REALLY want the live entertainment, there are plenty of smaller band options.
- Ambiance – The music you choose will set the mood for the night. How do you envision your reception? Do you want a live performance with band members interacting with the crowd along with the visual experience or do you picture guests requesting their favorite songs and everyone singing along to the latest hit?
