Meredith and Ben are getting married in just a few short weeks 🙂 This Memorial Day weekend they will be tying the knot in downtown Raleigh at the Visual Art Exchange and then making their way over to Humble Pie for a delicious dinner and fun dancing! We’ve got a great team of vendors lined up for their big day and know it’s going to be a great time for all of their friends and family!
We are so excited to share their engagement story with you as well as some images from their e-session with Brett and Jessica Photography, below!
How did Ben propose?
He proposed in our backyard on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. He then surprised me with dinner reservations at Second Empire and reached out to our friends to meet us for celebratory drinks after dinner. It was such a fun surprise!
So far, what aspect of planning the wedding has been the most enjoyable?
Definitely planning the honeymoon! Of course, we can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends. We are looking forward to standing before them and (officially) committing our lives to each other, but we can’t wait to spend a week in Greece!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides to help them stay stress-free throughout the planning process?
Make a detailed to do list and schedule! This is something I did not do until much later in the planning process. Also, write everything down! In the beginning you have tons of ideas and a lot of time. I feel like I forgot half of the “great” ideas in those first few excited months of planning.
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
The reception! Ben and I both would rather not be the center of attention, so we are really looking forward to just hanging out and mingling with our guests while they enjoy amazing food, drinks, and some great music.
What are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Classic, elegant, comfortable
We really just thought it would be nice to have someone help us on the day of to help everything run smoothly. Gina has done so much more than that already! She’s been an amazing resource and sounding board. She kept me focused and on track. I know we wouldn’t be ready to get married in two weeks without her!!
