Amelia and Milton were married at the elegant Umstead Hotel and Spa this past November! We hope you enjoy their wonderful story as well as the beautiful images from their bright and cheerful wedding captured by Christobal with Azul Photography!
We had the pleasure of working with Amelia, Milton, and Amelia’s fantastic mother Patricia beginning last May. We knew right away they were going to be an incredible family to work with…Amelia being an ECU Pirate Alum was also a bonus! Throughout the entire planning process they wanted to make sure the wedding reflected not only the two of them, but their friends and families as well. Amelia and Milton both have a Puerto Rican background, so incorporating fun, bright and bold colors was a must! We may have sneaked in a tribute to Amelia’s East Carolina Pirate days with some purple and gold accents too.
The day finally arrived and it was more beautiful than anyone could have imagined! The wedding ceremony was supposed to take place outside on the lawn, but even though the sun was shining that morning it was a bit chilly to host the ceremony outdoors. Amelia wanted to make sure her guests were as comfortable as possible, so not only was she willing to move the ceremony inside, she also provided an elegant gold shawl for the ladies! Hand written promises to one another, and the love shared between them, was all they needed to have the perfect ceremony. It was absolutely perfect.
The reception was filled with personal details as well. Our favorite was their guest favors. Instead of providing a gift for everyone, Amelia and Milton decided to give a donation to the SPCA. Their sweet dogs are a big part of both of their lives, so we decided to set up a display showcasing their girls as well as raising awareness for animals needing a loving home!
Amelia and Milton, thank you for being such a wonderful couple to work with and allowing us to be part of such a special day! Also, thank you so much for writing this amazing review:
I had the great pleasure of working with Gina from A Southern Soiree for my wedding in November. She was wonderful to work with. I had always heard that wedding planning was stressful and that most brides were happy when it was over. This was not the case with me – all thanks to Gina! She was professional, kind, thoughtful and very responsive to all my needs. From day one she put me at ease and helped me plan my dream wedding. I actually was sad when it was over. This was a life changing event and I am so pleased that I chose A Southern Soiree/Gina. I highly recommend them/her to any new bride to be!
A big thanks to Azul Photography for capturing the incredible moments of the day!

Isn’t he handsome?

Her dress was stunning!

Amelia and Milton wanted to keep some tradition throughout the day and not see each other however this gentle touch and sweet moment together calmed any nerves they had!

Love this bow tie and boutonniere combination!

Watered Garden did an amazing job!

His face says it all!!

Although we couldn’t host the ceremony outside, it was just as beautiful inside!

Amelia is just the sweetest for providing her guests with gold shawls!

Milton’s twin sister stood beside him as he waited for his beautiful bride!

Amelia and Milton’s sweet “girls” are a huge part of their lives. For their guest favors they donated money for every guest that attended the wedding to the SPCA!
