We are excited to highlight our newest team member Kelley Ann on the blog today! We invited Kelley Ann to join our team this past August and she has been a wonderful addition to our Southern Soiree family.  Kelley Ann came to us from the amazing Umstead Hotel in Cary. While there she worked as their social catering manager and helped plan and coordinate with all the lovely brides having their weddings at the Umstead. Kelley Ann is the perfect mix of professional and personable and we’re excited to have her on our team!

We asked Kelley Ann a few questions so you can get to know her better!

What made you decide to major in Hospitality?
Hospitality Management was an easy choice!  The program afforded me the opportunity to pursue an ever-changing, creative and interactive career which was so desirable and still is today! 

Job you have learned the most from so far and why?
Working and living in DC was an experience I am so thankful I had. The fast paced, every changing lifestyle of the city taught me how to think on my feet and always be prepared for the unexpected! 

Three words to describe your personality:
Passionate, Energetic, Warmhearted

What excites you about helping someone plan their wedding day?
I always look forward to working with the bride and groom to create their vision and watching it come to life on their day!  It’s so fun to get to know a couple throughout their engagement and help find ways to make their wedding as personal and special as possible!

What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year?
Early mornings, Sunday, and November (my birthday month and the start of the holidays)

If you had a life motto, what would it be?
Love Big, Be Grateful, Laugh Lots!

What’s your guilty pleasure food item?
Oreo cookies and a glass of milk make any bad day better! 

What’s the most played song on your ipod?
Ever since I’ve been little I’ve belted out Wide Open Spaces by the Dixie Chicks.  It’s still one of my favorite songs that I listen to on a weekly basis.
