We are SO excited to share with you the story of Molly and Bruce’s wedding held at the gorgeous
Rose Hill Plantation this past March! It was truly an amazing event filled with lots of love and laughter. We began working with Molly and Bruce last spring and we quickly knew that Rose Hill was the perfect venue for them to celebrate with their family and friends. After selecting Rose Hill, their vision for the day began coming to life and we quickly started thinking of ways to make their wedding unique for them.
It was very important for them to share the wedding planning experience with their family, so we met with their families to brainstorm ideas that would involve everyone! Their family is so sweet (and hilarious too); it was easy coming up with fun ideas!
One of the first decisions made was to have Molly’s uncle officiate the ceremony, which made it even more special to them. Also, both mothers decided to wear their actual wedding dresses on the day of Molly and Bruce’s wedding, which was truly unique! They had their dresses shortened and dyed to match the wedding colors, and they looked beautiful! Their families love to spend time together having a glass of wine or two, so we thought it would be a neat idea to have wine bottles as table numbers. It was a great idea, made even better by Molly’s father. He actually drilled a hole in each of the wine bottles, so that they could place twinkle lights inside- it was unique and special to Molly and Bruce and they can be used again! They also really wanted to have a candy bar for their guests, so we charged it up a little bit and stocked it completely with the favorite candy of each immediate family member. It was a huge hit!
Despite the rain that came, their wedding day was perfect! Molly and Bruce didn’t let the rain get them down and just made the most of it…they were even able to get some great photos outdoors! Their guests raved about the delicious southern food stations and danced all night with Mark McNally as their DJ! They ended the night with everyone dancing in a circle to “Friends in Low Places” by Garth Brooks – loved it!
Thank you
Robyn Van Dyke for the amazing images and capturing their day perfectly!
We couldn’t have asked for a better couple or family to work with – they were always so much fun and excited for the next step! A huge thank you to Molly and Bruce for letting us be a part of their special day and thank you for your sweet review on

“I do not think five stars is even close to enough to describe the awesomeness of Kailey and A Southern Soiree. From the time we met with Kailey in May 2013, she made planning our wedding the most wonderful experience. It took once of me talking about some ideas that I had for her to completely understand the picture that I had painted in my head and then make it come true. As we celebrated this past Saturday I had so many people tell me I was the most calm and relaxed bride and that is all because of Kailey – if there was anything that I thought about doing I would look up and Kailey was already three steps ahead of me anticipating everything. Not only did Kailey make the day run so smoothly, but she recommended the most amazing group of people for us to work with. I truly feel like I had the ‘Dream Team’ surrounding me. Kailey and A Southern Soiree is simply the best!”
