We are excited to feature Laura and Hunter’s engagement! They are getting married at the beautiful Angus Barn Pavilions next month. This wedding is very special to me as they are family and I’m thrilled to be helping them in the planning process. Angus Barn is one of my favorite wedding venues. Laura and Hunter have decided to use some of Angus Barn’s signature items for their wedding such as the late night s’mores station and their famous chocolate chess pies as favors (YUM!).
A big thanks to Jagg Photography for these adorable engagement pictures!
We asked Laura a few questions about the planning process so far!
How did Hunter propose?
Hunter proposed on Thanksgiving Weekend last fall. We went and picked out our first Christmas tree together after the NC State football game (I won’t mention the score). As we were finishing up decorating the tree that night, Hunter asked if there were any ornaments left. I turned to put the last ornament on the tree and found a ring hanging from a ribbon. I was so surprised and Hunter was so nervous he tried to put it on my right hand. All in all, it was the perfect proposal for us and such an exciting night.
So far, what aspect of planning your wedding has been the most fun to you?
All of it has been a lot of fun! I think the best part has been getting to hang out with my family during the planning process. My mom has been a huge support and I have loved seeing her more over the past months. Also, Megan is my cousin so getting to see her all the time has been wonderful!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides to help them stay stress-free throughout the planning process?
Don’t get caught up in having everything “perfect.” It will be the perfect day no matter what. Being flexible and hiring a planner are the best things you can do!
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
I’m most excited about seeing friends and family and celebrating all together. I know the wedding will be beautiful no matter what because of all the love and support Hunter and I have.
What are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
timeless, elegant, fun
What made you decide to hire a planner?
I am really busy with school and needed help with all of the organization that goes into planning a wedding. Megan has been great at making sure we have checked all of the boxes and have thought of everything. I highly recommend a planner for all brides!
