Taylor and Kolby are tying the knot this upcoming May in their hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina. We are excited for their wedding and can’t wait to share all the details. On one of their first dates they went on a carriage ride, so what better way to incorporate that than to have a horse and carriage waiting for them at the ceremony to whisk them away before the party begins! With a rocking band, great food, and friends and family by their side, this wedding is bound to be one to remember!
Take a look at some of their engagement pictures from the talented Brian Mullins Photography.
To get to know Taylor and Kolby a little bit more check out some of the questions we asked them 🙂
How did Kolby propose?
On March 6, 2013, Taylor and Kolby went on a cruise with a group of friends. Kolby had the whole thing planned to a tee. Going along with the plan, all the friends in the group pretended to be sick and therefore not feeling up for exploring that day. Naturally Taylor felt bad that everyone was seasick, but decided to head off the boat with Kolby to experience Costa Maya, Mexico. The couple had a great day sightseeing and even got to hold a baby tiger cub for the first time. Separating from the rest of the tourists, Taylor and Kolby “happened upon” a beautiful lighthouse, which was totally planned by Kolby ahead of time. Sitting next to a palm tree taking in the beautiful view, Kolby got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him. Taylor immediately said, “YES!!!!” Little did Taylor know, everyone back in NC knew exactly what was happening. Taylor’s mom, Dianne, made sure Kolby had Taylor sit down when he asked, as she has a history of passing out when she gets too excited! The whole experience has been a dream come true for both of them, and they can’t wait for what the future has in store!
So far, what aspect of planning the wedding has been the most enjoyable?
Every step of the wedding planning process has been nothing but enjoyable and exciting! Knowing that I will be married to my soul mate /best friend at the end of all the planning and vendor meetings is very exciting. During the wedding planning process I never would have imagined all of this went into planning a wedding.
Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides to help them stay stress-free throughout the planning process?
HIRE A PLANNER! Having a planner definitely takes a lot of the stress off especially on the wedding day.
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
Everything coming together! Right now everything is planned and ready but I’m really anxious about how everything is going to turn out! 😉
What are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding?
Rustic; Classy; FUN!
What made you decide to hire a planner?
Well, I’m the first child getting married in my family and we had no clue where to start! Kolby is also the first child from his family getting married as well. We definitely need as much guidance as we can get!
