Sarah and Tony are getting married next October! We have been working on their planning, and I am so excited for their FUN wedding! They are such a sweet couple and you can see how much in love they are from their lovely engagement photos (taken in Atlanta)! Their ceremony and reception will take place at
Bay 7 in Durham and they are going to rock the night away with
The Dickens! It is going to be a wonderful celebration and we are thrilled that we get to spend this time with them! Congratulations again, Sarah and Tony!
Thank you also to
Jagg Photography for the amazing images from the engagement session! We just can’t get enough of them!!
Sarah and Tony also answered a few questions for us about their upcoming wedding. Check out their answers below!

How did Tony propose?
Tony took me for a (very) belated birthday dinner in early May. My birthday is in mid- April, but life got busy so we did not get a chance to celebrate, just the two of us. He picked me up at my house in Chapel Hill (date night- YAY!) and took me to Raleigh for delicious food and wine! We had a blast! I soon found out why he was SO adamant about picking me up…he had decorated his apartment prior to leaving for dinner. The apartment looked so pretty, and it took me a few minutes to process. Tony let our dog out of her crate, and the next thing I knew, he was proposing with my ring attached to Barleigh’s collar. It was perfect!
So far, what aspect of planning the wedding has been the most enjoyable?
This is a hard question to answer. I have loved so much of it, and Kailey has everything to do with that! She makes it SO easy to plan from far away (we now live in Atlanta). If I had to choose, I would say trying on bridesmaid dresses with my sister, and playing with the florists have been the best. But- we haven’t done lighting yet, and I LOVE lights!
Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides to help them stay stress- free throughout the planning process?
For all the brides planning from far away- I cannot stress enough how much easier it has been with a wedding planner to help (Kailey, specifically). Also, it really helps to prioritize what you can and cannot live without, and include the groom’s priorities too! This process is supposed to be fun and exciting, not daunting or stressful. Most importantly, I would say to enjoy every minute AND document as much of the process as you can. Those pictures will mean so much to you as you look back on the experience!
What are you excited about for the day of the wedding?
I am so excited to have fun with our family and friends. Tony and I decided in the beginning that we just wanted it to be a big party! We are, of course, excited to get married, too, but for us, its about spending this special day with the people we love. Because life is too short to have it any other way.
What are three words to describe the feel of your upcoming wedding? Modern, FUN and patterns!
What made you decide to hire a planner?
Prior to getting engaged, Tony and I knew we would be moving to Atlanta for me to go back to school. So one of the biggest factors was distance. I knew it would be difficult for me to plan a wedding, go to school, and have a life. I also wanted my family and I to enjoy the planning experience because I will never get this chance again. I wanted to avoid conflict or tension. Ultimately, Kailey is just fun, has great ideas, and has a wealth of contacts! All of which are invaluable to planning!
