Katherine and Manny were married this past June at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh. Their reception was held at North Ridge Country Club in their gorgeous ballroom. Katherine and Manny were terrific to work with, and from the very beginning they knew exactly what style of wedding they wanted! They’re both very traditional, but fun and outgoing at the same time.
Since Manny is Filipino, it was important to them to add touches here and there that tied into his culture. They started by adding San Miguel, a Filipino brewed beer, as one of their signature drinks! Then Manny, his dad and brother, and Katherine’s dad also changed into traditional Filipino shirts (called barong) before getting down on the dance floor! This was a special surprise for all their guests. Guests were also excited when they saw there was a live painting of the first dance! Tesh Parekh did an amazing job capturing Katherine and Manny while they were dancing. The entire night went off without a hitch. Everyone enjoyed the stories that Katherine and Manny’s friends and family shared, the delicious food, and even the doughnut bar (yes, we ordered 10 dozen boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for a late night snack)! I think the best part of the night was when The Soul Psychedelique took over. This 15 piece band definitely knew how to keep the party alive! We even extended the night, because noone want the night to end! Who could blame them?
We had the pleasure of working with Megan and Gina to plan our June 15th wedding reception at North Ridge Country Club. We worked together for 15 months during which I was in school full time working towards my MBA. While life was busy, my mom and I wanted to remain very involved in the planning process, and Megan and Gina understood and respected that. They seamlessly filled in any gaps and saved us time by making recommendations on vendors, scheduling appointments, and keeping the planning process organized and on track. Throughout our time together I received quick, thorough responses to questions and spot-on recommendations.
On our wedding day Megan and Gina made sure that our vision was fulfilled down to every last detail. Their presence and organization allowed us and our families to fully enjoy the day. Their smiling faces and assuredness were a welcome addition to our wedding.
When researching wedding planners I found reviews and references particularly helpful. Fifteen months later I can honestly say that what you read about A Southern Soiree, particularly Megan and Gina, is absolutely true. These ladies provide a personalized, client-focused experience that is refreshing, genuine, and truly helpful. Not only did we plan a beautiful event together, we had some fun along the way!
Heart Stone Films was there to capture all the beautiful moments of the day. Be sure to check out their wedding film!
