Rachel-Rose and KJ: Carolina Inn Wedding!

Rachel-Rose and KJ were married this past May at the beautiful Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill. Sounds good, right? Rachel-Rose and KJ are a Duke couple, and this Duke couple broke all the rules when they decided to have their ceremony and reception at the Carolina Inn! That certainly didn’t stop them from having one of the best weddings we’ve done!

I worked closely with Rachel-Rose and her hysterically funny and enthusiastic mother. The day was full of personal touches. Rachel-Rose incorporated her family’s old medical books and tools into the event, pictures of KJ and Rachel-Rose when they were younger filled the reception table, and thoughtful notes were passed around to loved ones. This family was such a joy to work with; we could not have asked for a better group!

The day of the wedding arrived and you could tell there was some anxiety in the air. That all went away when Rachel-Rose and KJ had their “blind” first look. The smallest touch from KJ calmed Rachel-Rose’s nerves and turned them into excitement instead. The rest of the night was filled with beautiful and poignant speeches, tears, tons of laughter and dancing – no one wanted it to end!

I was lucky to get to work with A Southern Soiree as our day of planner! Frankly, I don’t think we would have had as beautiful a wedding as we did without the hard work of Gina Annab, who I highly recommend! She went above and beyond to ensure that I had a wonderful day! She was friendly, kind and professional and I was happy she was there at my wedding as more of a friend than just a wedding planner. If you are going to have a day of planner, A Southern Soiree is the way to go! I am sure they are also fabulous as entire wedding day planners as well!
