Kelsey and Charlie are getting married this December at the Carolina Club in Chapel Hill. It’s going to be a beautiful wedding, and I am really excited to see everything come together! Kelsey and Charlie are such a sweet couple, and I am thrilled to be a part of their special day! I asked Kelsey to answer a few questions about her relationship with Charlie and how they are feeling about the wedding! Check out her answers below.

How did Charlie propose?
Charlie and I currently live in Fayetteville and we decided to go to Raleigh to celebrate my birthday in February. We went to Sullivan’s Steakhouse in downtown Raleigh for dinner. We had an awesome dinner and shared a bottle of wine. After dinner we were sitting talking and Charlie started to say a lot of really nice, and romantic things- I just thought that he was being extra sweet since it was my birthday! The next thing I knew he was down on one knee, with a little box asking me to marry him! I put my head in my hands and started to cry and of course said yes. The waitress then brought champagne and cheesecake with “Congratulations” written on the plate. It was such a wonderful night!

So far, what aspect of planning the wedding has been the most enjoyable?
So far wedding planning has been a breeze (thanks to Kailey of course!) My favorite part of the planning process has been looking at all the “real” weddings and finding bits and pieces of each wedding that I can combine to make my big day specific to me! I’ve truly enjoyed all the meetings with different vendors and finding what all they can do to make our day special!

Do you have any advice for recently engaged brides to help them stay stress-free throughout the planning process?
My advice to help brides stay stress-free would be to not get overwhelmed with all the small details. I would also encourage recently engaged brides to continue to seek their fiance’s opinions on all the details. Regardless of whether or not the groom really seems to care – it’s both of your days!
What are you most excited about for the day of the wedding?
I’m excited for the whole day overall! It’s so hard to choose which part to be the most excited about! The getting ready process with my best friends and sister, the dancing, the food…. I would have to say I’m most excited to be marrying my best friend and to become Mrs. Tucke at the end of the day!

Traditional, lively, and upbeat!
What made you decide to hire a planner?
My parents are from Houston, and my fiance’s parents are from Boston. We decided to get married “in the middle” here in North Carolina. Neither of us are from Raleigh and we knew nothing about the area. We decided that we needed to hire a wedding planner to help with suggestions for venues and vendors. We also both work full time and needed someone to help us stay organized! So far, we are loving our decision to hire a planner and couldn’t be more thankful for all her hard work!
