Are you planning an upcoming wedding? We love updating you on the latest trends in the wedding industry, so that you can take some of our ideas and incorporate them into your wedding! Our spring wedding season is almost ready to take off and we are excited to share with you some of the trends we are seeing:
TEXTURE & PATTERNS
We are seeing increased use of texture and patterns everywhere! Brides are choosing to use various textures not just in linens, but also with chair covers, cake design, in floral arrangements, bridesmaid dresses and more. There are so many possibilities when it comes to texture that the options are endless. Chevrons and stripes are very popular among brides, and patterns and textures help create a fun and whimsical look that we just can’t get enough of!

Unbelievable cake by Art of Cakes showcasing various textures and patterns!
Beautiful Lula Kate dress- the stripes are perfect!
Incorporating fruit in floral arrangements is one of our favorite trends!
We’re also seeing couples putting even more emphasis on creating an overall fun atmosphere for their guests, especially when it comes to food! Our couples are choosing to have late night snacks (sliders, mini hotdogs, bbq, french fries, and more), as well as dessert bars (s’mores bars, gelato bars, sundae stations and even popcorn bars). They’re bringing in the food trucks too, and we LOVE them…you can get pizza trucks, taco trucks, burger trucks- the possibilities are endless! All of these ideas are always a huge hit with guests. Our couples are incorporating more games for their guests to play such as bocce ball and corn hole during cocktail hour, and they’re hiring magicians and caricature artists to add another level of fun to their reception.

Some brides are taking a completely different approach, and returning to traditional elegance. In 2012, weddings reflected more of a “shabby chic” or “vintage” look, but this year brides are drawing their inspiration from the royal wedding, the Great Gatsby and Downton Abbey. They are choosing to have more formal receptions and are incorporating more sophisticated linens and ornate details to pull the look together. We are excited for this upcoming trend and these timeless looks!
