Renee and Dean were married in April at Jones Chapel at Meredith College and the reception took place at The Carolina Inn in the Old Well Ballroom. Renee contacted me last fall while she and Dean were living in Australia and told me that she needed help planning all the details of her wedding here in NC. Renee and I exchanged several emails and calls while she was in Australia and she picked her venue, DJ, and photographer before she even got back here to the States! Once she got back in December, we began working on finalizing all the other wedding details for the big day!
When Dean finally arrived in the States right before the wedding, he warned us about his Aussie friends. He said they were going to be an interesting crowd to watch. Needless to say, they were everything Dean described. Everyone from his uncle to his groomsmen made some kind of statement during the night. Dean’s uncle was honored enough to read “telegrams” from the Aussie guests that were not able to make it. Let’s just say you can tell from the messages that those Aussies have a great sense of humor! As if that wasn’t enough for the night, Dean and his groomsmen surprised everyone by serenading Renee with a choreographed performance of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)!
Thank you Renee and Dean for letting us be a part of your special day! Also, a big thank you to Renee for her awesome review of her experience working with us!
Amazing wedding at the Carolina Inn….My fiance and I presented a bit of a challenge in that we both live overseas and he was there the majority of the planning time for our wedding. I was so excited to work with Megan and the girls at A Southern Soiree. The reviews and word of mouth were amazing and true to that, she did not disappoint. The first few “meetings” with Megan where over the phone as I was in Australia. She was very warm and immediately I got the feeling just over the phone that I had made the right choice. Megan was able to help me get organized early and helped me do what I could from overseas. In November, I returned to the States until my April 14th, 2012 wedding. I met Gina and Megan within the first week. They were exactly what I had expected-super organized, sweet and made me feel like I was their only priority. Leading up to the wedding, Megan and Gina met with me many times, organized vendor meetings and also met with my fiance the week before the wedding. He was the pickiest and he was thrilled with everything that Megan had done. Every vendor that Megan suggested was the best. The wedding day went exactly to plan! It was an amazing event and we could not have been happier with how everything came together. I would highly recommend Megan and her team. She is the BEST wedding coordinator in NC hands down!
