Carolyn is a rising senior at East Carolina University, majoring in Hospitality Management with a concentration in Special Events and Conventions. She has previously worked at ECU’s Telefund. Carolyn’s excited about working with A Southern Soiree, learning about the industry and the uniqueness of each wedding.
We asked Carolyn a few questions to get to know her better and here are her answers below:
Q: If you had to eat one food for a month, for all meals, what would it be?
A: I make an awesome homemade spinach pizza. My mom used to make it all the time in high school and she taught me the recipe. Hot and cold, it’s delicious and I could never get sick of it!
Q: What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Three things on my bucket list are to travel to Greece, sky dive, and to learn to bake (homemade, not just from the box).
Q: What’s the most fun thing you’ve done in the past year?
The most fun thing I’ve done in the past year would definitely be my trip to the Dominican Republic for spring break in March. I went with 3 other girlfriends. It was a nice relaxing trip away from the hustle and bustle of school. The warm sun was ideal for returning to the states with an impressive suntan.
Q: Why did you chose to major in Hospitality Management?
I started out at ECU as a Business major. After my freshman year, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. I then discovered the HMGT major and knew exactly what I wanted to do, plan events! Now, 2 years into the program, I couldn’t be happier with my decision!
Q: What are your career aspirations after college?
After I graduate, my ideal career would be in event/wedding planning. What I love about the industry is that each day is different. I like a fast paced environment that keeps me on my toes.
Welcome to the team Carolyn!
