Heidi and Jason

September 23, 2008

Heidi and Jason (who could be one of the coolest couple’s ever!) were married at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro in August. I had been working with them for quite a while, but working with them was a little different. Heidi was in Pittsburgh finishing school for most of the time, so Jason and I spent most of the time together looking at the venues, picking vendors, etc. We had a lot of fun and I can always tease him that he was my first male bride. 🙂 Heidi was such an amazing bride because she was so laid back and has the most beautiful, infectious smile. You can never be sad around her! Anyways, enough gushing about them, to the details!

They had planned to be married under the pecan trees near the Fearrington Inn, but an impending storm had us move to the terrace, which still turned out beautifully! Jason has great taste and was not going to be happy with the same old tux, so he and his guys wore custom suits and ties. Mary from Fitch Creations, lined the aisles with mounds of pink rose petals, it was absolutely gorgeous! Heidi’s bouquet was all orchids, as you can see in the photo above, it was perfect for Heidi. Joe Bunn from Bunn DJ provided the ceremony music, which was traditional in the beginning, but they caught everyone off guard by walking out to “All I want is you” from the Juno soundtrack. Loved it! Right after the ceremony the rain let loose and I swear we had a mini monsoon! Everyone was tucked away in the barn so luckily no one got wet! Lynette Mittendorf did a fabulous job with the photos and was so much fun to work with.

After we finished up photos, it was time for the introductions. And I must tell you, these were no ordinary intros. Jason had gotten authentic Tag Team Championship Wrestling belts with their nicknames on them. Heidi knew nothing about this, so I had to hide them for quite awhile and right before they walked out, I handed them to them. We killed all the lights and Joe Bunn played this really cool wrestling song (I know what you are thinking, but it was a great intro song!) and they busted through the doors. It was so much fun! After their first dance, Heidi had a tear filled dance with her father and then it was Jason’s turn to dance with his mom. As an inside joke Jason and his mom started off their dance to “Big Pimpin“, I was crying, I was laughing so hard! After a few seconds they switched to a more traditional song. One of my most favorite things about this wedding was the “bars”. We had a seafood bar, a candy bar and a cookie bar! All the candy was pink and brown to match the color scheme and all the cookies were homemade. Love it! Also, at each place setting there was a pink and brown bone shaped cookie and a little note letting guests know that a donation was made in their honor to C.A.R.A (Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption, not me!).

After all the eating and chatting, the dance floor went crazy thanks to Joe! Jason and Heidi didn’t want to end until 1 am, so that meant hours of dancing and I wasn’t sure if they had it in them, but did they prove me wrong. Joe had them dancing non stop all night long and yes, they stayed until 1 am! Joe is amazing at keeping people on the dance floor and judging the crowd. Everyone had so much fun, especially Heidi who was out there almost the whole time! As the evening came to a close, Heidi and Jason ran through a fountain of sparklers to their fabulous suite at Fearrington. It was a great wedding and I was so happy to see everything come together just as they wanted! Thanks again guys for letting me be a part of your special day and I will miss you!
