I am now reposting this entry with pro pics from the always fabulous Walters and Walters, yay! Mine were horrible and I know you will enjoy these much more! James and Meridith are so much fun to work with and I always know that we will have AMAZING photos!
Katie and John were married this past weekend at her parents home in Wilson. I have been working with Katie and her family for almost 2 years now and I had mixed feelings about her wedding day. It was so exciting to see them happy and married, but it also meant that I wouldn’t be talking to them everyday! We arrived onsite early to set up the tables under the tent and even before everything was set it was beautiful! Katie’s family had golf carts available and I must say they were a lifesaver with such a large property. Many times I had a very cute passenger, Oakland, Katie and John’s dog who really enjoyed being a part of the set up!
A horseshoe shaped pond surrounded the tent which was lined with white fabric and the largest chandeliers we have ever used! If you happened to be driving down 264 this past weekend, you may have seen it. Thanks to Chair and Equipment Rentals in Rocky Mount for all their hard work! One of the coolest things was their billboard on 264. They took their engagement photos and created a billboard to thank their guests for all their love and support.
Katie and John had 350 guests for their wedding. Guests arrived and were seated on the front lawn of the house. Fresh Affairs created the most gorgeous wreaths for the front doors where Katie and John were to be married. After sending the 12 groomsmen and 11 bridesmaids down the aisle, guests were blown away when Katie and her dad turned the corner in a horse drawn carriage. I was covered in chills and shed a few tears because it was so gorgeous!
After Katie and John said I do, they hopped back on the horse and carriage and were whisked away. After the ceremony guests walked over to the tent and all you could hear were gasps. Fresh Affairs created the most amazing florals in the tent, which we paired with kiwi satin linens from CE Rentals in Raleigh. Catering Works catered the event and kept drinks and food in the guests at all time. Everything was flawless! I have to say the mac and cheese bites were delicious, I wish I could take them home! After Katie and John were done with photos they joined the party and let me tell you, it was a party! Tears were flowing while Katie danced with her father, but it was the opposite for John and his mom. They chose to dance to “Play that Funky Music, White Boy” and invited their whole side of the family on the dance floor, it was awesome! The band was The Remedy, from Raleigh, and I have to say that they were amazing, they could play almost anything! Katie and Johns friends and family were so much fun, we smiled and laughed ALL night. The best part was when John’s Uncle Frankie sang an AC/DC song with John’s dad on the drums, John’s mom on the tambourine and his grandmother as the back up dancer. The crowd loved it! As the sun went down, luminaries were lit all around the property and it was quite a sight to see from afar. The whole area just glowed! Congratulations Katie and John, I will miss working with you!
